Yesterday was a lot of fun. Edward, his brother & sister, the kids, and I all went to Samammish Lake for a BBQ with Antoinetta's boyfriend's family. Edward borrowed a boat that he is also doing some testing on and we took it out on the lake. Well, I didn't go on the boat because Vivi would have no part of the life jacket nor of anyone else, so she and I stayed on the shore. We still had fun. Dominic had a blast in the water and I must say that his Tio Elmer was very patient and hung out with him the whole time he was in the water so I could tend to Vivian. It was really a lot of fun. Most of the conversation was in Spanish, so my participation was limited. But I found the more I tried to speak in Spanish, the more willing everyone was to use their English. Is my Spanish THAT bad? LOL The comida (food) was awesome and it was a fun day. Considering Dominic didn't have a nap, he was great all day. It amazes me how that kid just joins right in with the other kids - even though he doesn't know them. I think that's great and I hope he never loses that trait.
We did have one problem though. I noticed one of the wheels on the trailer towing the boat was wobbly and pointed it out to Edward. Good thing since the wheel had lost its bearing or something like that and we most likely would have lost the load on the way back! We had to talk to the park ranger and leave the boat there. We made the 10:30 ferry with seconds to spare and were finally home just before midnight! LONG day!
Today, Edward & Elmer went and fixed the trailer and brought the boat back, so all is well. Tomorrow, we are having the couple that had us to their BBQ over to BBQ at our house. Luckily, Chris, Antoinetta's boyfriend, is an awesome cook and is going to prepare the carne asada! Woo hoo!
Hope everyone has a fabulous Memorial Day weekend!
